As temperatures rise, the number of AC’s I own doesn’t (that’s zero, BTW), which means frozen foods become 80 percent of my diet. Currently, I’m relying on popsicles, smoothies, boozy slushies, and any other icy treats to keep myself sane and my body at a reasonable temperature.
As much as I love these foods — so really, my A/C-less existence just gives me permission to indulge — the downside is the sugar crash that inevitably comes afterward. These fro-yo fruit bites provide a much needed breather from the sugar binge I call June.
Fro-yo has always been a favorite summer treat of mine. It’s got all the creaminess of ice cream, but it doesn’t weigh me down like a traditional scoop does. Believe it or not, mimicking the sweet-tart taste of fro-yo is as easy as freezing your own yogurt.
Making the treats inside an ice cube tray is the real hack here, though. The trays provide the perfect bite-sized snack, so you can pop ’em all day long. Just as the type of yogurt, fruit combinations are totally up to your preference. We loved raspberries, but any in-season summer fruit is sure to be a hit.
