OLIVER TODD: Bayer Leverkusen will listen offers for Javier Hernandez after the former Manchester United striker’s dip in form.

Hernandez, 28, has not scored in over three months and has just 18 months left on his contract.

That combination of circumstances means Bayer will consider bids for their star forward – with €25million (£21.4m) understood to be the figure they are looking for.

West Ham make £20m move for Celtic striker Moussa Dembele

KIERAN GILL: West Ham have made a £20million bid for Celtic striker Moussa Dembele as they look to strengthen their attacking options in the January transfer window.

The Hammers have already seen a £6m bid for Jermain Defoe rejected while they have also been knocked back in a £10m move for Brentford’s Scott Hogan.

Dembele has scored 19 goals in 36 games for Celtic this season, alerting the Premier League clubs who snubbed him in the summer when he left Fulham on a free transfer.

West Ham were seemingly one of those clubs but will now fork out a near club-record fee to bring him to London Stadium.

SIMON JONES: Aston Villa are close to finalising a £3million deal for Nottingham Forest midfielder Henri Lansbury.

The former Arsenal midfielder has been in sensational form for Nottingham Forest so far this season, scoring six goals and providing a further three assists for a team that has seriously struggled.

And Forest fans will certainly be fearing the drop if and when Aston Villa snap up their best player. They sit 20th in the table just two points above the relegation zone.

Reading tie Ali Al Habsi to new long-term contract

Ali Al Habsi has signed a contract extension with Reading, tying him to the club until 2019.

The goalkeeper, 35, has made 65 appearances for the Royals since joining from Wigan Athletic in 2015, starting every Championship game this season.

‘Ali is a great person with a very good mentality,’ Reading manager Jaap Stam said. ‘We’re all very happy that he has signed another deal at the club.’
