12 Style And Fashion Trends On Our Radar In 2018

Because we’re always looking to stay on top of the newest, coolest, weirdest and most interesting trends, we’ve already got our eyes on the style trends that’ll dominate fashion headlines in 2018.

Though 2017 introduced us to some cool and flirty trends ― like paper bag waist pants and couch florals ― we’re eagerly awaiting what fun and fashionable things we can look forward to seeing on clothing racks in 2018.

  • Anthropologie
Berets were the “it” topper for fall runways in 2017, and it looks like it’s on the upswing for next year, too. And why not? They’re cute, super lightweight, easy to wear, and take any look from bland to bold.

  • 2 Ultra Violet
    Mango
Ultra Violet is Pantone’s aptly-named color of the year, and we can’t wait to see this trend in full swing in the spring. Expect to see lots of this color next year, from clothes, shoes and accessories, to paint and home decor.

  • 3 Statement Earrings
    Etsy // Fable and Lore
Statement earrings are one of our favorite trends from 2017, so we’re glad to see they’re still trending up for 2018. From oversized hoops to hammered metal, oversized earrings are the trend that keeps hanging on.

  • 4 Peekaboo Side Slits
    ASOS
Sexy side splits are the look we can’t get enough of this year. From splits in wide-leg trousers and jeans, to skirts and thigh-high dress slits, you can expect to see a little more skin in 2018.

  • 5 100% Cotton Jeans
    Levis
The no-stretch denim trend is in full swing, with consumers turning their eyes toward 100-percent cotton jeans and denim in 2018. Plus, if you’re looking to get on the capsule wardrobe train, timeless denim is a must-have.

  • 6 Wide Leg Trousers
    Modcloth
Wide-leg pants are the trouser trend that just won’t let go, and it looks like they’re here to stay through 2018. From wide-leg cropped trousers, to high-waist paper-bag pants, you’ll see plenty of these cool and comfortable bottoms throughout 2018.

  • 7 Sheer Socks
    Free People
Sheer socks are probably one of the more impractical trends of 2018…but they’re too magical and cute not to love. Pair them with ballet flats for a new look, or let them play peekaboo over a pair of ankle booties.

  • 8 Bold Mixed Prints
    Eloquii
In 2018, we predict you’ll see floral…and lots of it. Especially mixed-matched patterns of bright and bold floral. The key to pulling off this intimidating trend? Find pieces that share similar color tones.

  • 9 Teddy Coats
    Reformation
Teddy coats are a particular style of faux fur coat that we predict you’ll see everywhere in 2018. Think of them as coats made with teddy bear fur. They’ve got the warmth, style and texture of faux fur, but with an extra kick of coziness.

  • 10 Brand Logos
    ASOS
Those iconically ’90s branded sweatshirts, hoodies and t-shirts you grew up wearing? They’re back and better than ever, especially because brand iconography will be huge in 2018.

  • 11 Embellished Shoes
    ASOS
Remember Mindy Kaling’s pearl-rimmed sneakers? That was just the beginning of the embellished shoe trend that’s dominating footwear this year. Expect to see pearls, diamonds, sequins and glitter on your kicks headed into the new year.

  • 12 Corduroy
    Modcloth
Cozy corduroy is making a comeback in 2018, and we couldn’t be more thrilled. After all, corduroy is basically just a textured form of velvet, and you know we love velvet. Better still, corduroy is a perfect trouser to transition between workwear and weekend wear.

The problem with cursory interviews at any level is that more often than not, one tends to arrive at a conclusion that isn’t true. Money was doled out by every major party who saw a chance of winning. And giving out money for votes has become a normal scene. While I am completely against the act and I’d support any action taken to stop it, if I were to look at its effectiveness, it has considerably gone down.Do you think if a someone had crores of rupees at his / her disposal, would he or she surely win an election? Lets say party A’s candidate in party B’s stronghold? A perception is etched in people’s minds now regarding such money doled out. They think it rightfully belongs to them for it is ‘their’ money. So they are taking it and voting for who they’d want to.Money was a factor, yes. But did it decide the election results? I wouldn’t think / say so. There are quite a few surveys done as well in this regard. As far as constitutional mandates are concerned I have no qualms for all 3 wings of a constitutional democracy should be functional all the time. And with respect to what the election officer would have done, I’d not want to speculate on what stand he’d take.Extreme cases of corruption warrant a crackdown, not stalling of a democratic process for a prolonged period of time. 4 years of not having an MLA is a very bad scene and is symptomatic of an ineffective constitutional machinery

Displaying bloodshed of plants is hurting too!! Yes, it’s just because another word ‘sap’ used in place of the word ‘blood’ vegetarians don’t realize it. Same way, a fruit, seed is the fetus of plants which carry the children of plants. It’s just because different words being used, people specially vegetarians are not conscious of it. The sooner they realize the better.

The damage of the scam was unlimited because it had also led to similar allegations and the policy-paralysis of the UPA government from which it never recovered . This is an odd statement. The congress is a corrupt government. The people know it. No blanket statements from the media will ever make people believe otherwise. There were 9 large scams in the 10 years of UPA rule. The mother and son are still out on bail. This judgement is BJP governments ticket to TN, The meeting with the patriarch of DMK and a secret deal to let go of the literary heir of Mr. Karunanidhi, Kanimozhi. Its plain and simple, with congress out of the picture and the DMK penniless to fight the next election against the rich coffers of AIDMK, DMK has no option but to ally with the BJP. It is sad to be a common man on such a day. While the BJP has done nothing wrong on its own, and this level of low level politics probably required to quell its political ambitions, it’s in a way, in this one case, probably joined the league of parties who used the CBI to protect its interest. Sad day !

As I elaborate with suggestions in my book Innovation by India for India, the Need and the Challenge the real reason is the disconnect of the elite of India with this sector manifesting itself as: lack of distribution channels, lack of continued innovation, lack of market knowledge, financial support, and standardization. Please see the book for details and specific recommendations.

When we have seen reservations are no way to any community’s prosperity, (show me one minority or dalit community that says they have progressed even a little since 1947 ) the youngsters who are galvanizing youth must find real problems that are facing the youth today and try to involve them in finding solutions. But what we see here is, youth are finding short-cuts to publicity with the intention of entering politics ( I do wholeheartedly agree that it is impossible to do so for an ordinary citizen otherwise, as envisaged by our constitution.) There is no way to kick out the firmly entrenched power holders ( rulers ) thanks to voters who cannot think and also the rulers who have kept them ignorant for their own selfish motives AND made enough money to fight elections not only for themselves but also for their children and grandchildren. patidar leaders gujjar leaders linngayat leaders dalit leaders etc will all be only aspiring to be one of this group.
